Is it just me, or do you want to go to Disney World, like, all the time?
You too? Great! Tell my fiance so he'll realize it's a normal, human want. If you haven't read my previous posts about my first trip to Disney, click here to see that adventure and learn a few tips and tricks!
One awesome thing about Disney is there FastPass option. It's free for everyone in the park and you get to pick three rides to add to your queue for the day. A lot of people schedule them one after the other so that they can get more for the rest of the day. Both times I've had the chance to go to Disney, I only had a short planning period so my FastPasses were spread out through the day. That option totally worked for us and we got to ride the ones we wanted and more. Lines aren't always awful, depending on when you go. I highly recommend using online crowd calendars when planning your trip! They let you know down to the day about how busy you should expect it to be in each park! I used them and they helped us 100%.
Now that you've picked your park, it's time to choose your rides! There are so many attractions and entertainment at each park, it can be hard to decide which ones you need to go to, especially if you haven't been to the parks at all or very often. People choose their favorites and I'm no different.
Here are top five picks for each park and when the best time for a FastPass is for each of them!
Magic Kingdom
1. Splash Mountain
My number one choice for Magic Kingdom is Splash Mountain, even though I lost my really awesome Minnie hat the first time I rode it. But, that doesn't matter! It's a cute, fun ride where you get soaked and are happy about it. I suggest doing this at 11:00 am or around 3:00 pm. Most people get it in the heat of the day and, trust me, it's hot all day so no need to worry.
2. Under the Sea
I love the Little Mermaid and this ride puts you in a giant clam shell and sends you through the adventure of Ariel, songs included. It's cute, it's air-conditioned, and it gives you an excuse to sit and sing along to your favorite songs from the movie. I've never had a FastPass for this ride and usually just check the DisneyWorld app for wait times. It doesn't take long to get through the line and it's cool to walk through anyway. Scuttle makes an appearance and there's seashells everywhere. I love it.
3. Space Ranger Spin
This ride is similar to Toy Story Mania in Hollywood Studios. You're there to defeat Emperor Zurg by using your gun to shoot at the targets! I'm terrible at these games compared to my fiance, but it's fun nonetheless. I did have a FastPass for this one in the afternoon. It was another great way to get out of the heat for a few minutes. But, if you don't get a FastPass for it don't fret, the line wasn't long either.
4. Pirates of the Caribbean
It's a classic. And they even updated the beginning which was cool, but I think it could use a little more updating to make it even better. Another fun way to get out of the heat. But, I will warn you, waiting in line for this takes for.ev.er. and you might consider a FastPass if this ride really interests you.
5. The Haunted Mansion
Another classic! Even though it broke down on us a couple times, it was entertaining and worth it. Yes, could stand for some updating, but you can't mess with the classics! Just because you've seen the movie doesn't mean you've seen the ride. Waiting in line was fun for this because there were things to do and it seemed to go by quickly which was a plus.
Animal Kingdom
1. Kilimanjaro Safaris
I absolutely love this ride. We sat in the front and had the best time. The line took forever to get through and we should have done a FastPass, but as I mention in my previous post about my first time at Animal Kingdom, we had a whirlwind trip to that park. This was the first thing we did when we got to the park and it set the tone for the rest of the day. It was a great chance to see all the animals and, if you're lucky, a rhino might chase you, too.
2. Expedition Everest
One of the only roller coasters that actually kind of seems like a roller coaster. It was fun and surprising and I would ride it again and again if it didn't take so long to go through the line. Definitely get a FastPass for this one. There are cool things to look at in line if you do have to wait, though.
3. Avatar Flight of Passage
One of the newest rides at the park thanks to the new Pandora area, this ride also has a heckish long wait time. There are fun things to look at while you're waiting, but you will quickly lose interest as you stand for hours on end. But, once you get there, the ride is AWESOME. It all felt to real and thrilling, it's totally worth the wait. But, it would be even more worth the wait if it was only thirty minutes long. Good luck getting a FastPass, but I definitely suggest it.
4. Kali River Rapids
In theory, a great way to cool off. In actuality, I didn't get wet at all. It was still fun and some people get wet so if you want to chance it, I highly suggest it! We waited in line for this one and it can get annoying as the FastPass people come through and you're hot and don't want to wait anymore. But, it was still a fun time regardless. Not sure I would waste a FastPass on this, but if you do I hope you get drenched!
5. Na'vi River Journey
Fun fact: I've never been on this ride! But, there are really no other rides for adults there (at least ones that interested me) so I added this one to my list because it's new and the line is always long so it has to be at least a little good. It looks cool, so I'll give it that. Definitely need a FastPass like Avatar Flight of Passage unless you're into waiting for long periods of time.
Hollywood Studios
1. Toy Story Mania
Get the FastPass for this one! It is so fun for everyone. Again, I'm terrible at these games where you shoot at things for points, but it was 3D and you spin and wow it's just a good time. Your favorite little green aliens are there along with your favorite characters from the movies!
2. Rockin' Rollercoaster
The only other coaster that seems like a real roller coaster. The line was terribly long, but that didn't stop me from jamming to the Aerosmith songs playing while we waited. Get a FastPass if you can, but the wait went by quickly if you can't. Definitely one I'd ride twice in the same day.
3. Tower of Terror
This one scared my fiance to death (see the picture here) but I thought it was amazing. It's old school and classic. We had a FastPass but didn't use it because the line was so short. We did it first thing and that's your best option in my opinion, unless you head straight for Rockin' Rollercoaster.
4. Frozen Sing-Along Not a ride, but a really fun show! If you love Frozen, then you definitely need to hit this show up! It goes through the story of Frozen and you can sing-along to your favorite songs. It's told by two funny storytellers with appearances by your favorite Frozen characters! We did this once it started to get hot. It's a nice way to cool down for little bit inside.
5. Beauty and the Beast Live
It's outside, but if you get there early then you can get a good spot and be in the shade, too! It's a fun live action version of Beauty and the Beast that doesn't last too awfully long. Sing and dance along as the characters tell the story of Belle and her Beast.
Epcot
1. Frozen Ever After
Sadly, I am not an expert of Epcot. I got to go there ONE time and had only enough time to ride ONE ride if the line wasn't too long. You better believe I hustled myself all the way over to Norway so I could see the Frozen Ever After ride of my dreams. It did not disappoint. If you're a fan then do yourself a favor and ride it constantly. It was fun and exciting! Similar to The Little Mermaid ride from Magic Kingdom. But better!
I know I left some cool rides off of here, and I'm sorry if I crushed someone's soul for not picking their favorite one. These are just my type! The other rides made me sick to be honest! Sorry, Space Mountain.
Enjoy Disney World and take me with you please!
